Manhattan Beach Brewing Company was opened in the Summer of 1991 by two brothers, David and Michael Zislis, and a friend John Waters. The brewpub is located three doors up from the beach and the historic Manhattan Beach Pier and Round Hours. Situated in a 1930's brick building, the brewpub's interior is old fashioned with rustic, red brick walls, maple wood floors, antique ceiling fans and copper fixtures. The pub is divided by a 40-foot, oak stand-up bar, with a drinking area on one side and a dining area on the other. The stainless steel brew kettle, mash tun, and other vessels are featured directly behind the copper topped, oak bar, with no glass partitions. Large picture windows offer customers a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and great people watching opportunities. The restaurant specializes in gourmet pizzas, a selection of giant hamburgers (served on our famous homemade buns, pastas, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. A popular selection of wines is also served.

Beers Brewed at the Manhattan Beach brewing Company:
Manhattan Beach Blonde A straw colored larger, light bodied and mildly hopped. A true thirst quencher brewed in the style of American pilsners.
Pier Pale Ale A classic golden ale brewed with 100% pale malt and cascade hops. Full bodied with an aggressive hop character that explodes off the top of the palate and reappears in the aftertaste.
Rat Beach Red Ale Named after the popular South Bay surf break. A full bodied, amber brew, with a sweet maltiness that's perfectly balanced with a unique blend of bittering hops.
South Bay Bitter An American version of the English mild ale. This copper-colored brew has a sweet malty body, complemented by a mild floral hop finish..
Dominator Wheat Ale Named After the Greek cargo ship laden with wheat that went around the Palos Verdes Peninsula Many years ago. This beer is a light, refreshing ale brewed with a substantial portion of wheat in addition to the normal barley. The crisp beer is served chilled with a slice of lemon.
